Cayce, Pixite’s Creative Director of Marketing, has had a Gundam model kit sitting in his closet for years. As a kid, he loved watching Gundam anime, and enjoyed building some of the models, but he was never able to paint them – “It was above my skill level.”
As an adult, he bought the kit with the intention of finally painting the intricate pieces, but he simply never found the time. Enter: Pixite’s Creative Recharge Week. The CRW was the perfect opportunity to spend as much time as he needed to breathe life into the model kit sitting in his closet.
Part of his choice? “I didn’t want to be sitting in front of a screen.” He wanted take a true break from tech and do something that was literally ‘hands-on.’ “The point of my creative week was to engage the physical side of creativity.”
Ultimately, Cayce says, his creative week was “incredibly fulfilling” and inspired him to continue with non-digital creative projects.
He says that the CRW is valuable because “it’s a way to grow, learn a new skill…explore.” It’s also a way to recharge and take a step back from the 9-5.
“Giving time for personal growth is crucial in a healthy company culture.”
