“I have kids that struggle with art but then they work on Assembly and it opens up an avenue and I see them express themselves in a way they’ve never been able to.” – Chris Gaghan, Hicksville, Ohio

Chris Gaghan is a middle school visual arts teacher in Ohio who started using Assembly when it came out – he used it as an activity for students who had finished work early. A few years in, Assembly added more features and he launched a graphic design unit. For the past few years, he’s had 150 students per year work on Assembly in his graphic design unit.

They do projects like character design, logo design (including a school logo!), architecture and others.

Here are some designs from the final projects of his 5th/6th graders.
